Leave a messageAccording to The Wall Street Journal, Amazon has emerged as the largest delivery company in the United States, surpassing both UPS and FedEx in package volume. Amazon's latest internal data reveals that the e-commerce giant's annual delivery volume in the U.S. has surpassed that of its competitors for the first time.
It is expected to ship a total of 4.8 billion packages before Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with a projected year-end total of approximately 5.9 billion packages in 2023.
In comparison, UPS delivered around 3.4 billion packages in the first nine months of this year in the U.S., with an estimated total for 2023 not exceeding last year's 5.3 billion. FedEx, with a smaller package volume in the U.S., includes parcels ultimately delivered by the U.S. Postal Service.
According to internal Amazon data and insider sources, the Seattle-based e-commerce giant exceeded UPS in the number of packages delivered to U.S. households in 2022, having already surpassed FedEx in 2020. The company is set to further expand its lead this year.
In terms of quantity, the U.S. Postal Service remains the largest parcel service provider, handling hundreds of millions of packages for these three companies.
